we remove the carious part of tooth and take an impression of prepared cavity.  we send it to the dental lab for the fabrication of inlays and onlays with the cosmetically perfect  materials or in gold to replace the decayed or missing tooth structure.  we fix it  in the cavity so that the tooth becomes as functional and cosmetic as it was previous to  decay.
 

 Advantages

 1. conservative and less expensive technique when compared with the crowns.

 2. more strong than direct fillings.

 3. proper contour of the missing tooth structure can be developed because it is fabricated out side the mouth over the model with the more strength materials.
